COMPUTER TIPS

Some of our new beginners need a few basic tips. And even us non beginners

can always use a refresher or find out there is a new way to do something. Don't

be afraid to email me a tip of your own and I will put it here.

PICTURES

First thing to do is make a folder. You can make as many folders as you want.

Make a Baby Pic folder, a Vacation Pic folder, or any kind you want with a name

that relates to what your saving in it.

As a matter of fact, make one Big folder and put all the new little folders in it.

For example, make a ALL PICS folder. Then open ALL PICS folder. Then start

making your sub folders, like Baby Pics, Vac Pics, etc.

After you have done this, you will now have somewhere to save your pictures to.

After scanning a pic, the program will ask you three things. Wait a minute. By

program I mean the program that you told your scanner to send it to. That could be

Paint, or Photosuite, or whatever program you choose to use with your photos.  Now

that program will ask you three things when you click on "save as".

Well, lets put it this way. You need to do three things when saving that pic.

First, at the top bar that shows the folder where it will save the pic to (usually the

temp file), change it to one of the pic folders that you made earlier.

Second, give it a name. Maybe,  Baby 1, Baby 2, etc.

Third, you need to select what kind of format you want to save the pic in.

bmp. is for real good quality. Takes a lot of computer memory to save it. That's

O K as long as your not sending it with email.

jpeg. is the one you want to choose for sending the pic in email or if you're going

to use it on a web page. With the jpeg. format it uses a lot less computer memory

and that makes it a lot faster to send over the internet.

By the way, you can save the same pic in as many different formats that you want.
