DEFINITIONS

Wines that, as part of their standard production method, have grape brandy

added to them, are called fortified wines.

Four basic flavors of wine:

Fruit    Alcohol    Acidity    Sweetness

A wine's vintage is the year in which it was made. A good vintage is a year in which generally good wines were made in a given region; a poor vintage is the opposite. A vintage wine is the product of a single year's harvest; a non-vintage wine is a blending of wines from two or more years.
